Material science & development of specialty graphite and composites. Hongfeng Carbon Solutions holds over 70 patents and our R&D department is always improving the resins, composite materials, and processes that optimize our product performance.

Advanced Precision Machining

Advanced precision machining capabilities with 0.012mm (<0.0005") tolerance. Our skilled technicians operate over 240 CNC machines, along with automated 2D and 3D vision systems, purification systems, ultrasonic cleaning, and a 10k level (ISO7) clean room. We take pride in a zero-defect culture.

Hongfeng Carbon Solutions will commission a new production facility in Tokyo (Q2) 2025. This facility will expand and diversify our production capacity to help manage trade stability. It will additionally serve to enhance our research and development.

Commissioning of Japan Factory

Our R&D team has developed a volcanic hardening process to create glassy carbon materials and vitreous graphite treatments. These further enhance the performance of graphite for highly specialized applications.

Developed Glassy Carbon and Vitreous Graphite

Hong Kong Hongfeng Industrial Ltd. is founded as a global business headquarters to lead Hongfeng Carbon Solutions. The office serves to grow business operations internationally and meet the increasing demand for precision machined graphite.

2021

Hong Kong Hongfeng Established

Hongfeng Carbon moved to a new 32 acre campus with 22k sqm (>215k sqft.) of manufacturing and R&D space.

2015

New R&D Center and Production Campus

We developed an innovative PECVD graphite boat with several design and utility patents after working closely with leading solar cell manufacturers.‍

2010

Developed Innovative PECVD Graphite Boat

A new generation of fuel cell graphite bipolar plate was developed to help power the fleet of fuel cell buses used during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Hongfeng Carbon Solutions played a critical role in showcasing this latest "green" technology.‍

Aerospace

Graphite is a robust and versatile material that provides the unique performance, reliability, and safety demanded for aerospace applications. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio, thermal stability, chemical stability, and great electrical properties. It is ideally suited for long-life operation in extreme environments.

Analytical / Medical

Graphite provides excellent electrical and thermal conductivity making it broadly applicable in laboratory and medical settings. The biocompatibility of synthetic graphite requires extremely high purity and precision machining capabilities. Hongfeng Carbon Solutions offers glassy carbon and vitreous graphite materials for these specialized applications.

EDM Graphite & Electrodes

The high electrical conductivity and strength of graphite make it the most popular choice for specialized EDM electrodes. Hongfeng Carbon Solutions converts graphite blocks into precise components that EDM manufactures depend on with machining tolerance of 0.012mm (<0.0005").
We also serve as a certified long-time distributor for POCO materials.

Fuel Cell / Flow Battery

Graphite bipolar plates are a critical component for fuel cells, hydrogen electrolyzers, and flow batteries. Hongfeng Carbon Solutions has over two decades of experience innovating custom isostatic graphite materials and composites that provide superior performance to our clients worldwide.
Surface grinding tolerance is up to 0.005mm (<0.0002").

Inkjet / Industrial

Industrial inkjet printheads and nozzles, bearings and seals, current transmission, and extreme lubrication applications all benefit from the robust properties of specialty graphite materials and precision machining. Hongfeng Carbon Solutions utilizes dozens of 2D and 3D automated vision systems and CMM to ensure absolute quality control of our machined components. These equipment's have resolution up to 0.1 micron!

Semiconductor

Hongfeng Carbon Solutions utilizes the highest grade synthetic graphite's from POCO Materials, Mersen, Toyo Tanso, and more, as well as vitreous graphite treatments (VGI, VCI, GC) for semiconductor components. These include ion implantation, etching, and electron beam evaporation coating equipment parts.

Solar / Photovoltaic (PV)

The graphite boat for PECVD is a critical component in the production of photovoltaic solar panels. Hongfeng Carbon Solutions developed and patented an innovative solution to help clients produce the most efficient photovoltaic cells.

Hongfeng Carbon Solutions maintains [ISO 9001 certified] comprehensive quality control testing and inspection processes for the various products and applications we operate. We use exclusively isostatic graphite from premium suppliers to guarantee uniform and consistent material properties. All graphite components we machine undergo 2D and/or 3D imaging systems to confirm all tolerances, and all pieces are cleaned and carefully inspected for flaws.

Specialized quality tests include high pressure testing with liquids and air at levels that exceed industry standards, and ultrasonic cleaning in a 10k level (ISO 7) cleanroom. Hongfeng Carbon operates many custom test equipment's that were exclusively developed for complete and efficient QC procedures for the delivered products.
